Equipping

"...teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”

Cross Lake Equipping is a program that consists of classes and teaching aimed at deepening our theological and doctrinal understanding with an emphasis on how this understanding can draw our hearts closer to God and help grow our faith to bear on our actions.

The Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20 does not stop with evangelism. As followers of Christ, we are called to make disciples of Jesus by teaching them to observe all that He has commanded us. That means that we want people to know God and grow in their faith. The heart of this program is to make disciples, to equip the body to grow up to maturity in their faith, so that we may no longer be children tossed to and fro (Ephesians 4:12-16). Our desire is that each person who goes through this program would gain knowledge and understanding about God and their faith and in doing so that their hearts would be transformed.

Classes are offered at different times throughout the year; we invite you to join us!

Wednesday Evening Class: The Doctrine of Scripture

The Doctrine of Scripture is foundational to the Christian faith. Scripture informs our faith, guides our understanding of truth, and serves as the foundational element in how we know God. If we do not understand what the Bible is, how it came to be, or if we can trust the words contained in its pages, we will struggle to benefit from this precious gift. When we rightly understand the doctrine of Scripture, we find stable ground for our faith to grow.

This will be a 13 week class on Wednesdays, beginning May 29th and ending August 21st. Each class will be held from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Childcare will be provided for toddlers through age 11. The cost for this class is $15 per person.

Class Objectives:

After completing this class, students will:

  • Grow in their assurance of the scripture’s credibility and reliability.
  • Understand how the scripture came to be and why we trust it as God’s Word.
  • Develop a deeper appreciation for the Bible and how God can use it to bring about fruitful discipleship in our lives.
  • Gain a better understanding of why we need Scripture and the role it plays in the life of a believe
